Stedi cam and other camera toys

I do a good deal of fun filming so I decided to make my life easer .

So I made a few mounts to do it .

First is my Stedi cam .

Its a wood beam with a 2.5” LCD screen . A Batt pack and a Audio amp .

The reason for the external LCD in my case is to save the

Cams Batt for Recording and not the Inboard LCD that eats Batts for lunch.

My Second Mount is a Shoulder brace style.

I added the handle on the top of the cam to let me have a better grip

and I also modded the CRT Viewfinder from a old cam to supplement the Internal one on the cam .

I took the Sole plate off the old cam too and used it on the brace to let me add a Bogen Quick release.

Some time I need to make a Bullet proof DC-DC to let me run the Rig off a single batt pack .

the CRT is 6-15 V

the Mic is 6-15 V

The cam is only 8 V and I almost killed a $4000Canon XL1 years ago doing a batt mod

So a Switch mode DC DC that is a brick wall will take 5-20 V and make it safe to run my cam .

OR get some aftermarket Long batts as I no longer need to see the internal Viewfinder .

I have the CRT .

I am really enjoying the Mods I am doing to this system . My XL1 may be dead but its spirit is alive in the Rig I have now .

Now My dream rig is a canon XA-10 . Its not that much different then what I have now .
